What is Injection Molding
Injection molding, is a manufactuer method, injecting melted material into a mold to made into the shape presented by the mold, what we do normally, the fully melted plastic material is stirred by a screw at a certain temperature, and then injected into the mold cavity with high pressure,After cooling and curing, the molded product is obtained. The advantages of the injection molding method are fast production speed, high efficiency, automatic operation, supporting a wide variety of patterns, and different shapes from simple to complex, and any sizes from large to small. Moreover, the product size is accurate as designed, the product is easy to be updated by improving the mold, and it can form parts with complex shapes using more molding skills. Injection molding method is applicable to mass production, products with complex shapes and other molding processing fields and so on.
Mold
In the beginning, the mold designer carefully analyze whether the plastic products conform to the injection molding processing principle.Usually discussing on the geometric shape, dimensional accuracy, and appearance requirements of the products, mold will be designed according to the request of the customer, also to the requirements of the product, which helps the mold designer to choose mold materials, mold material selection also needs to adapt to the actual processing and heat treatment capabilities.
The most important of a mold is the structure and accuracy, reasonable tolerance during the design. After the mold is produced, it needs to do some necessary tests to ensure the structural quality and production accuracy of the mold。
The injection molding process have six steps: Mold closing, glue injection, pressure maintaining, cooling, mold opening, and product removal.
Products can be produced in batches and periodically while repeating the 6 steps. Also suitable for the molding of thermosetting plastics and rubber, the differences are that the barrel temperature is lower than that of thermoplastics, and the injection pressure is higher. The mold is heated, the mold needs to be cured or vulcanized after the injection of materials, and then the film is removed while hot.
Nowadays, the trend of processing technology is developing towards high-tech. There are more new technologies include micro injection molding, high filling composite injection molding, water assisted injection molding, mixed use of various special injection molding processes, foam injection molding, mold technology, simulation technology, etc.

Materials
For injection molding,we have selection of more than 100 thermoplastic and thermoset materials, theoretically, all plastics are suitable,we must comprehensively consider the performance, quality and cost of the product when selecting materials.
Thermoplastics:ABS,ABS/PC,Acetal,Acetal Copolymer,Acetal Homopolymer/Delrin,ETPU,HDPE,LCP,LDPE,LLDPE,Nylon,PA6,PA66,PBT,PC/PBT,PEEK,PEI,PET,PETG,PMMA (Acrylic,Plexiglas),Polycarbonate,Polypropylene,PPA,PPE/PS,PS,PSU,TPU
Thermosets:Standard silicone (30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 durometers),Medical-grade silicone,optical-grade silicone,fluorosilicone (fuel and oil resistant)
Applications
Injection Molding service & Injection Molding parts applied in a variety of industries, such as Home appliance,Housings,Syringes,Medical device, Brackets,Electronic device,Containers,Gears,Automotive parts,Electrical connectors Tele-communication, Lighting control equipment, digital device, Robots, etc.
Advantages of Injection Molding
Injection molding is plastic manufacturing process which can produce high quality molding parts for rapid prototyping and production. It always has these advantages: Complex parts available,Exceptional part cosmetics and surface finish,Low scrap rate,Lower cost than CNC machining and 3D print,Repeatable,Widely option of thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
Injection Molding Operations
According to the needs of different product material, structures from the customers, different molds will show different characteristics. Sometimes we need a variety of mold forming requirements, the combination of multiple materials, the coexistence of multiple structures, and the integration of multiple skills. This requires the use of many different forms of injection molding processing , such as plastic injection molding, silicone injection molding, overmolding,Insert molding and so on.
Plastic Injection Molding
means the material is plastic, been heated to a molten state, then inject into the mold to form a final production-grade thermoplastic part.
Silicone Rubber Molding
means the material is liquid silicon rubber (LSR),mixing a two-component compound together,Liquid silicone rubber is then heat cured in the mold with a platinum catalyst, which can endure severe temperatures, widely used in engine.
Overmolding
means one material is overlaid onto another substrate part to form onw single component, which is a two-part injection molding processes, ther is also another process insert Molding, also two parts, but one metal insert another.

Frequently Asked Questions Of Injection Molding
For more Injection Molding questions, you can also get in touch with us.
Most standard injection molding machines allow a maximum part size of 18.9 in. x 29.6 in. x 8 in. (480mm x 751mm x 203mm).
Injection molding defects may be caused by the resins, processes, or just molds, normally marks by flow, burn, sink, wrap,Vacuum voids,Weld lines,Jetting,Discolouration,Surface delamination and so on.
Molding is a manufacturing process that involves a raw material that is either liquid or pliable by employing a rigid frame known as a mold or matrix.
Forming is the process of changing the shape of a product that is only partially finished, such as sheet metal,
Both molding and forming shape the material while not removing any of it, the difference is that molding is done with a mold, and forming is completed through suitable physical stresses such as compression, shear, and tension.
